Coffee El dorado - Colombia
Tasting notes of orange blossom and nutmeg, full body and a chocolate toffee finish.
The small town of Monte bonito borders the slopes of the Cerro Bravo (a kick ass Colombian stratovolcano!) and has a population of less that a thousand inhabitants. Most of the coffee growers from this region are very small with only between 1-3 hectares with 89 associates in this group. They are responsible for full management of the farm and will pick the coffee themselves only asking for help from their neighbours when needed. The coffee is taken to a co operative warehouse in Manizales where it is stored. The farmers are offered pay incentives if the harvest is of good quality and if the coffee is delivered below 11% moisture.
We think it's great as a single origin, but we also like blending it with our Brazil to help lift it with a more citrus fruit flavour.
